Origins: Natural hybrid from Mexico
Bloom: Short, red bracts that don’t escape the leaves and purple tubular flowers
Light: Strong indirect or filtered light
Water: Spray or dunk twice a week, allow to dry within 6-8 hours. Soak monthly to rehydrate up to 2 hours as necessary. Be sure to thoroughly dry base after soaking to avoid rotting
This is a rare and unusual ionantha hybrid. It has gray lepidote leaves and a tight upright shape. Can grow to 12” long. Doesn’t produce much color like some ionantha hybrids, but does have nice red bracts that sit in the rosette, producing purple flowers.
