Origins: Natural hybrid imported from Guatemala by Tropiflora
Bloom: Short, compound inflorescence with reddish bracts and purple tubular flowers. Upper foliage produces nice red blush during bloom
Light: Strong indirect or filtered light
Water: Spray or dunk twice a week, allow to dry within 6-8 hours. Soak monthly to rehydrate up to 2 hours as necessary. Be sure to dry the center of the plant completely if you fully submerge it in water to avoid rotting
This plant was originally acquired by Tropiflora in a shipment of caput-medusae. A few plants appeared different, especially once they bloomed, and it was concluded they were crossed with brachycaulos. Produces a nice shape with semi-bulbous base and leaves that gently recurve to form an open rosette
