Origins: Tillandsia streptophylla comes from Southern Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala, and Belize
Bloom: Large colorful pink inflorescence with multiple bracts and mauve colored flowers
Light: Strong indirect and/or filtered light
Water: Spray or dunk once a week, allow to dry within 6-8 hours. Soak monthly to rehydrate up to 4 hours as necessary. The leaves will curl dramatically when under hydrated. Allow plenty of air flow after watering to prevent rot. Ideally plant should completely dry same day it is watered
These were imported as Tillandsia streptophylla Red, but I am changing the name a bit because there are some really incredible streptophylla Red clones out there and I do not think these are associated with those. I have had dozens of streptophyllas over the years blush just like this when they're young, but eventually it becomes faint to non-existent over time. Perhaps in a high humidity environment you could hold it longer. Anyways, based on the price I also do not think these are any of the super rare clones. So there's all the info I have!
