Straminea is often found growing among cacti and in desert like regions. Straminea likes moisture but does not like high humidity; it likes to get wet and dry out quickly. A mature specimen can reach almost 2 feet in height and will form a large clump over time. This form of straminea produces vivid dark purple bracts that stand out; they're truly stunning
