This is a species I feel flies under the radar. The color of the leaves is so unique; they are a dark gray color, and the leaves are flat and shiny as you would expect to find on a mesic species. The leaves are recurving and as the plant matures, the leaves tend to spiral a bit. This appears to be a self-pollinating species as it pretty reliably produces seed pods after its salmon colored bloomspike produces purple flowers
