Origins: Peru
Bloom: Really long compound inflorescence with red bracts and purple flowers. Pups grow off of the bloomspike so don't cut it off too soon!
Light: Strong indirect, filtered, and/or partial direct light
Ideal for: Outdoors
Water: Spray twice a week, water can sit down at the base of the leaves. Soak monthly to rehydrate up to 4 hours as necessary
Somonians is a mesic (tropical) species that grows more like a typical bromeliad. Somnians seems to grow better terrestrially (in soil) and likes frequent moisture. Can grow quite large and produce many pups on the bloomspike
