Bloom: Really long compound inflorescence with red bracts and purple flowers. Pups grow off of the bloomspike so don't cut it off too soon!
Light: Strong indirect, filtered, and/or partial direct light
Ideal for: Outdoors
Water: Spray twice a week, water can sit down at the base of the leaves. Soak monthly to rehydrate up to 4 hours as necessary
Somonians is a mesic (tropical) species that grows more like a typical bromeliad. Somnians seems to grow better terrestrially (in soil) and likes frequent moisture. Can grow quite large and produce many pups on the bloomspike
Pictured in soil, but these plants will ship bare root
