Tillandsia Queen's Surprise (carlsoniae x achyrostachys)
Origins: Pam Koide hybrid
Bloom: Short, compound inflorescence with several red/pink bracts and purple flowers
Light: Strong indirect, filtered, or partial direct light
Water: Spray or dunk twice a week, allow to dry within 6-8 hours. Soak monthly to rehydrate up to an hour as necessary.
I really like the name of this plant, because the plant is rather unassuming when not in bloom, but once it spikes, it puts on a real show. Both parents have pretty impressive blooms on their own, so it's no SURPRISE their progeny does the same. Very scurfy, and a nice, tight, compact shape
