This plant is officially still registered as Tillandsia stricta ssp (subspecies) piniformis, but will likely be elevated to species status in the future. A closed rosette with an almost pinecone like shape, it almost resembles a giant kautskyi. This form of stricta has done quite well in my drier climate, stricta is normally a species I have to give extra water to; not this one!
