Tillandsia Penang Peach (Tillandsia ionantha Mexico x Tillandsia Sitting Pretty)

Origins: Pachara hybrid from Thailand

Bloom: Short, compound inflorescence producing several yellow to red bracts that don't escape the upper leaves.  Flowers are bicolored purple and white, and upper foliage produces vivid red color during bloom

Light: Strong indirect or filtered light, some direct light okay

Water: Spray or dunk twice a week, allow to dry within the day.  Soak monthly to rehydrate up to 4 hours as needed

As with so many ionantha hybrids, ionantha genetics dominate this hybrid.  Long, erect, densely stacked leaves that carry a red hue year round, semi lepidote, and the plant has a slightly bulbous base. The ones I’ve been growing have been generous pup producers
