Tillandsia malyi TRUE SPECIES

Origins: Peru

Bloom: Small to intermediate compound inflorescence similar in structure to tectorum but with elongated pink bracts and tiny purple and white flowers

Light: Strong indirect, partial direct, and/or filtered light

Water: Spray or dunk twice a week, allow to dry within 6-8 hours.  

There were plants circulating the market a few years ago labeled as T. malyi from Tillandsia International, but it was obviously not even close to the true T. malyi.  I was able to acquire the actual species and now have several offsets to share.

The plant is very fuzzy; super dense elongated trichomes.  Plant generally grows in a recurved shape and is smaller and more compact than most forms of tectorum.  Surprisingly easy grow for me given how hard it is to acquire
