Origins: Cultivar of ionantha, unknown origins
Bloom: Typical ionantha bloom; foliage blushes red and produces purple flowers from center of plant
Light: Strong indirect or filtered light
Water: Spray or dunk twice a week, allow to dry within 6-8 hours. Soak monthly to rehydrate up to 4 hours as necessary
This form of ionantha is among the largest available. As you can see from the pictures, it can grow quite long. My mother that I've had for 4 years is now close to a foot long! Produces many offsets and is reluctant to bloom (mine hasn't bloomed yet but has produces a dozen pups)
5 small pups available, pictured
