Origins: Fasciation is naturally occuring, these popped up in a large greenhouse
Bloom: Foliage turns a vibrant red and produces a short simple inflorescence with purple flowers. Haven't seen these crested plants actually bloom but it will blush
Light: Strong indirect or filtered light, partial sun okay
Water: Spray or dunk twice a week, allow to dry within 6-8 hours. Soak monthly to rehydrate up to 4 hours as necessary
These unique ionanthas are crested, meaning they grow horizontally along the meristem instead of vertically to a point. Crested plants can easily trap water in the densely packed leaves so make sure to give this plant strong air flow
Plants available vary slightly in size, shape, and degree of fasciation
