Formerly a vriesea, espinosae is a small compact plant with short, semi-stiff leaves and stoloniferous pups. This form of espinosae grows larger and more open and upright than the standard form, reaching 2-3 times the size. Forms really cool shapes with the pups grow in off the stolons, and the vibrant red in the bloom can be seen from afar
