Tillandsia elongata

Origins: Colombia, Venzuela, Jamaica, Mexico

Bloom: This plant produces a huge compound bloomspike with many bracts that are yellow and green with blushes of red.  The flowers are purple

Ideal for: Indoors/Outdoors

Light: Shade, indirect, and/or filtered light

Water: Spray or dunk twice a week, allow to dry within 6-8 hours.  Soak monthly to rehydrate up to 4 hours as necessary

Elongata is a mesic species, preferring shade and filtered light, no direct light.  It also prefers to be watered more frequently, and can be grown terrestrially. Large compound bloomspike that takes many months to fully develop
