Origins: Ecuador
Bloom: Produces large simple inflorescence with one gigantic pink bract and large deep purple flowers. Some forms of cyanea produce fragrant flowers, I do not yet know if this variegated form is fragrant or not
Ideal for: Indoors/Outdoors, does well indoors
Light: Indirect or filtered light, shade
Water: Spray twice a week, allow to dry within 6-8 hours. Add an extra watering to rehydrate during hotter and drier months
Previously in the genus Tillandsia, this plant has been reclassified into the newly formed bromeliad genus Wallindsia. This is one of the only species I would say not only can survive inside, but actually does quite well. Cyanea has a very showy bloom and does best potted, but will be shipped bare root
