Origins: Natural hybrid from Mexico
Bloom: Short simple to compound inflorescence with one or several small red bracts that barely escape the upper leaves and purple tubular flowers
Light: Strong indirect light, partial direct light okay
Water: Spray or dunk twice a week, allow to dry within 6-8 hours. Soak monthly to rehydrate up to 4 hours as necessary
This is a natural hybrid Pam Koide found in Mexico in the 80's, one I actually acquired by accident early in my collecting career. A nice guy in town sold me one and he had no idea what it was but he lived near Bird Rock, so I took it there and Pam confirmed the ID. It's quite prolific, producing many fast growing offsets. I like the thick, succulent leaves that look and feel slightly leathery, and upper foliage blushes a bit during bloom
