Tillandsia Betty (Tillandsia xerographica x Tillandsia brachycaulos) Original RFI clone

Origins: Original true clone from RFI created by Paul Isley

Bloom: Large, capitate inflorescence with bracts that barely escape the scape leaves, produces purple flowers and upper foliage gets a beautiful pink/red blush in bloom

Light: Strong indirect or filtered light, some direct light okay

Water: Spray or dunk twice a week, allow to dry between watering.  Soak monthly to rehydrate up to an hour as necessary

As you’ll see on my website, I have Tillandsia xerographica x Tillandsia brachycaulos as a separate listing. There are other sellers online who acquire inferior clones of registered hybrids and sell them under the registered name. I do not support this practice, because I believe it diminishes the hard work that growers put into creating their hybrids, and in most cases there are very clear distinctions between various plants of the same parentage.  Anyways, enough of my rant. This is the true original clone of Tillandsia Betty. I will say too, in contrast to my soap boxing earlier in this description, the Guatemalan clone I sell under just the cross is a pretty comparable plant in many ways
