Origins: Mexico
Bloom: Foliage turns deep red/maroon during bloom and produces several purple flowers from center of plant
Light: Strong indirect, filtered, or partial sun
Water: Spray or dunk twice a week, allow to dry within 6-8 hours. Soak monthly to rehydrate up to 4 hours as necessary
The correct naming of this plant is ionantha v. stricta, however it is also commonly known as Rosita. This form of ionantha holds a deep red/maroon color year round with adequate light and gets even more vibrant during bloom. Also grows much larger than the typical Rosita found in the market
