Origins: Bill Timm hybrid
Bloom: Long, compound inflorescence with a purple/red peduncle and many erect red bracts that stay close to the peduncle. Purple tubular flowers. In my experience, not viviparous like Tillandsia dasyliriifolia
Light: Strong indirect and/or filtered light (strong filtered light for best color)
Water: Spray or dunk twice a week, ideally allowing plant to completely dry off same day. Soak monthly to rehydrate up to 4 hours as necessary, again ensuring plant dries off completely afterwards
This is a fascinating hybrid of two plants rarely seen in hybrids. The color of the leaves is rich thanks to Tillandsia domingensis, but it is much larger than true domingensis thanks to its dance partner, Tillandsia dasyliriifolia. This plant can be a little cold sensitive so keep an eye on it during the winter
