Origins: Mexico
Bloom: Several bracts emerge, barely escaping the terminal leaves. The bracts are pink with dense gray/white scales. Produces dark green flowers
Light: Strong indirect and/or filtered light, partial direct okay
Ideal for: Outdoors
Water: Spray or dunk twice a week, allow to dry within 6-8 hours. Soaking likely won't be necessary as this species prefers a more arid climate. Water sparingly during cold months
This is a real treasure, and a species that is tough to find in cultivation. Native to the semi-arid deserts of Mexico, this is a species that likes warm, dry temperatures and can handle long periods of drought. This makes it a pretty hardy plant, but on the other side it does not like being cold and wet, so be sure to pay attention during Winter.
