Origins: Hybrid originally imported from South America
Bloom: Long, branched inflorescence with purple flower bracts and purple fragrant flowers with a white center
Light: Strong indirect or filtered light, some direct light okay
Water: Spray or dunk twice a week, allow to dry within 6-8 hours. Soak monthly to rehydrate up to 4 hours as needed
Among the fragrant tillandsias, the structure of this bloom is one of my favorites. It is delicate yet complex, with rich color and a wonderful fragrance. Another great thing about this hybrid is that it is much easier to care for than T. caerulea. The leaves are much thicker thanks to purpurea, and it grows hardy like the aforementioned desert dweller
