Origins: Brazil
Bloom: Intermediate simple inflorescence with a single large pale yellow bract and white fragrant flowers similar to Tillandsia diaguitensis and Tillandsia xiphioides
Light: Strong indirect and/or filtered light, some direct light okay
Water: Spray or dunk twice a week, ideally allowing plant to completely dry off same day. Soak monthly to rehydrate up to 4 hours as necessary, again ensuring plant dries off completely afterwards
This species was once considered a large form of Tillandsia diaguitensis, but was elevated to species status in 2008. The leaves are green rather than gray like diaguitensis, and the plant does grow larger in every way than Tillandsia diaguitensis. Can be a little cold sensitive so keep an eye on it during winter
