Origins: Honduras

Bloom: Long, compound inflorescence with long pale red/salmon colored bracts and purple tubular flowers

Light: Strong indirect or filtered light, some direct light okay

Water: Spray or dunk twice a week, allow to dry within 6-8 hours.  Soak monthly to rehydrate up to 4 hours as necessary

 

 

This species native to Honduras has stiff, gently recurved red leaves and produces a large, beautiful rosette of color.  The bloom structure is beautifully impressive, and the bracts are among the longest and thinnest around.  Can be grown mounted or in a pot of bark/quick draining medium
