Origins: Made by Steve Correale

Bloom: Short, compound inflorescence with large, thick pink bracts that produce purple flowers.  Looks like a chiapensis bloom on steroids

Light: Strong indirect light, early morning or late afternoon direct sun okay

Water: Spray or dunk twice a week, allow to dry within 6-8 hours.  Soak monthly to rehydrate up to 2 hours as necessary.  The less you water, the curlier the leaves will be (be careful not to dehydrate too much!).  Avoid water getting trapped in the bulbous base which causes rot

This is one of if not the most sought after hybrids available.  This is a beautiful blend of the two parents; wide, thick, curly gray leaves with a lot of scurf and a show stopping bloom.  This plant is hard to come by these days so if you want one, grab it when you see it!

Sometimes one sees the phrase "giant clone" or "large clone" attached to a species or hybrid. Whether or not this increase in size is due to genetic characteristics or is merely an anomaly due to a certain grower's conditions (or perhaps acumen) is debatable. These Bea Correale giant clone offsets are derived from stock that consistently grew larger than normal, though actual results may vary.
