Origins: Bolivia
Bloom: Long simple inflorescence with several large, white, fragrant flowers
Light: Strong indirect or filtered light, some direct light okay

Once considered a varietal of Tillandsia xiphioides, Tillandsia prolata earned species status for several unique features that set it apart from xiphioides. First, it grows caulescent, more like diaguitensis but much larger. Second, the bloomspike is twice as long on Tillandsia prolata, and the bract is much larger. Has been a little cold sensitive in my experience. Deliciously fragrant
