This form of purpurea has a shorter, wider, and thicker leaf than most other purpurea forms. The bracts and flowers are also a little smaller, but still strongly fragrant. Purpurea in general is a hardy species that in many regions can be grown in full sun.  It's a good pupper but not a quick grower so over time, it will form a nice clump.  Many argue that purpurea is the most fragrant species out there
